As a Warehouse assistant:
Reporting to Warehouse Manager, Support in Controling Warehouse Operations: receipt, issue, and storage of all materials and equipment in the correct quantities. Oversee and follow up on Material Discrepancies, and maintain close control over the warehouse data systems, coordinate with Logistics Department for the Inbound of material. Ensure all activities concerning the movement of hazardous materials are carried out in a safe manner and that all materials received are properly inspected prior to acceptance, plus preservation standards are adhered to.
Accountabilities:
• Allocate and prioritize work programs, and provide guidance with regard to warehouse operations with Contractors, ensuring that all goods are received, stored, and dispatched according to purchase orders and requisitions, so as to ensure a cost-effective and timely service to internal and external customers.
• Stay abreast of developments in materials handling equipment and warehousing technologies so as to assess the potential for improving services within reasonable economic parameters.
• Support the Supply Chain department in handling material matters.
• Maintain proper time keeping, discipline, follow office protocol and caries out administrative activities related to his section; escort in and out trucks/Deliveries.Receipt and Dispatch:
• Oversee and control the receipt, of all materials and equipment in the correct quantities, quality and condition as requisitioned, in accordance with established procedures and standards.
• Ensure all materials received are properly inspected prior to acceptance; ensuring that specifications are confirmed with the Materials Standardizer so that all accepted materials are as per contract specifications.
• Review discrepancy report (Over, Short, Damage) as prepared by Contatcor, so as to support in resolving discrepancies by identifying likely causes.
• Define and/or follow preservation standards and maintain preservation of all material accordingly.
• Supervise stuffing and de-stuffing of containers.Issue and Storage:
• Oversee and control the issue and storage of all materials and equipment in the correct quantities, quality and condition.
• Follow shelf-life control, ensuring that materials are batch-managed by taking appropriate measures, as per established policies and procedures.
• Monitor – review of end user specimen signatures.
• Review movements of items and carrying random physical checks on methods of storage, Preservations and handling.Ensure all site deliveries are carried out as per procedures and on timely basis.Data Systems:
• Oversee and maintain close control over the warehouse data systems, covering all related transactions, ensuring that all material movements are timely recorded and that it is accurate and matching with reality.Health, Safety, Environment and Security:
• Ensure all activities concerning movement of hazardous materials are carried out in a safe manner and that storage is arranged in accordance with agreed materials segregation plan. Ensure that appropriate housekeeping is maintained to safeguard warehouse inventory stocks against any losses or damage.
Minimum Experience:
• 4 – 5 Years of experience in a similar position in warehousing
• Proven experience in dealing with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
